Transformers Toys!!

Well, seems like Hasbro has the right idea. They have announced that they will be releasing an all new line of Transformers toys, but with a twist. These new toys will not be the regular pap (Beast Wars anyone?), but will instead be based on the G1 version of the Transformers mythos.
Note how they are based on, and are not actually exact G1 replicas. Plus with them being $10-20, I'm guessing that they're not going to be die cast metal like in the good ol' 80's :'(

Why does Optimus Prime have a shield? When did Megatron have wings? Isn't Rodimus in Hot Rod form?
Still, I'd probably get Hot Rod and Starscream (the most authentic looking) even though I found him irritating and I'm not that fond of F15 Eagles.
Gimmie this Optimus Prime anyday!!

Lego + Lots of Time = ?

Well for this guy, it equals a 16ft replica of the U.S.S. Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. It comes complete with F18s, F14, Helos, Mules, crew, and also has near complete interiors. It even fucking floats (with the help of wooden struts)!!!!

This is crazy....Le(t's)go (did ya see what I did there?).

[Update]: As pointed out to me by my hetero-house-partner Tonic (unofficially renamed by me to "Elixir"), this model doesn't actually float. I was just looking at the thumbnails. Upon close investigation of the pics, the model is actually being held up by wooden struts.

How to make a mechanical drum machine

Hhhhmmmmmm....check out how this guy did it:

Posted for Tonic so he'd have something to put in his project cubicle.

American Sports Jerseys

It's almost that time of year again (well actually, it's always that time of year in the States), when we all need to buy some sports jerseys. Well the only sports left are basketball (will be over soon - now at the semis), and the new baseball season.
So be careful when choosing a jersey as your favorite player may not be at that fanchise anymore e.g. Shaun Alexander (but why not Kyle Boller!!!).

And here's a site that sells us overpriced American sports jerseys:
Trans-Atlantic Sports.net
This is where I bought my Philadelphia Phillies baseball jerseys from, although 4-6 week minimum delivery time is a pain in the ass.

A look at how the PS3 got to be $600

Directly from joystiq

I just scanned through it. But seeing as I'm a PS3 Fanboy, I thought I'd blog it.

OLED Illuminated Surfaces

I want one!!!
I'ma put these motherfuckers on my case window and shit. Yeah!!!!
It's gonna be HUD madness!!!

Which Laptop?

What's all this noise about MacBooks and MacBookPros? Who cares if they have Intel core duo's? Who cares if you can boot up both Windows and OSX?
Remember Mac's only have a single click. (Actually, apparently you can right click by tapping the trackpad with two fingers instead of holding CTRL + click).

I might wait to get a lappy, there seem to be so many cool things on the horizon. There's the new AMD Turion 64 X2 (dual core) processors, meaning that their single core lappys will become cheaper. But then Intel have a new dual core chip on the way (codename: Merom). Also there are the new Samsung 32GB NAND flash drives - read as super fast, and super cool (literally).

Choices, choices.
I might go for a Rock lappy.
But I kinda want an ultra-portable ASUS W5F...in white...engadget review

[Update]: Actually I might get a UMPC. But not for 2G's even if it has those NAND flash drives.

Wow, sexy.

Check it out, Nintendo are going to release the DS Lite in black, in Europe, FIRST!!!
It looks so good.
Can't wait for June 23rd to come, and for £100 I might get one myself.

So that's how you reinstall Windows XP safely...

Read it here.

This guide involves partitions, virtual machines and backups. Quite ingenious really, I never thought of doing it like this.
The only problem is that you'll have to reactivate Windows and Office (unless you're a Microsoft Volume Licensing Customer), gay.

Free Stock Photos

Heeeyyyyaaaaa!

Erm...I know that this may not be really in keeping with most of the topics in the blog, but it kinda involves computers so here we go:

Check out this site for some free stock photos. See you need a computer to get these pics so I guess its tech right? Plus I like my art 'n' shit, y'know, rocks, and grass, and flowers and shit.

Note: You can only get the low-res photos for free. The high-res pics are premium (not implemented yet tho).

The Lazer Turntable

Here's a link to a new device that plays vinyl records (a turntable of sorts), but uses a lazer instead of a needle.
Apparently it can play scratched records. So might be kinda useful.

Check it out

Note: I spelt lazer with a 'z' to make it sound more interesting and futuristic. Also it make it seem like a lazer zapper gun thingy.

New Phone?

Seeing as we're all at that "upgrade my phone" time of year, I thought I'd give my view of what we're in the markket for.

FistOfFunk: check out this N93 game footage...Nokia N93
TonicOfSolenoids: Samsung P300 aka the calculator phone (oh yeah!! so teh 1337ness)
ClickOfSolitude: HTC Prophet (aka the O2 XDA Neo) or HTC Wizard (aka the O2 XDA Mini-S)

PS3 Costs an arm and a leg over here!!!

It may also cost you the life of an infant and cause you to sell your soul to Beelz.

PS3 UK (Premium Package ONLY) = £425!!!!

That is a lot, no matter what you say.
Check out the joystiq price comparison, £100 more expensive than the US Premium Package!!!! Come on!!!!

Well at least we get a Blu-Ray drive for that price, and it is the premium package. Oh well, time to start slinging rock or dope on dem street corners, or man-whoring ourselves.

E3 2006

As you may well know, E3 2006 has gone and passed.
I couldn't be bothered to blog about everything in E3 as there are many sites that do this already, they even hire professional 'journalists' to do so.

So instead here's a couple o' links where you can find E3 news and stuff.

Project Offset

Here's the homepage for that game I was talking about on the weekend. I was a bit sceptical at first as to it being called "The Looking Game Ever!!" (by some guy at work). But I took a look at the site.....and......Holy Shit! does it look good!!

check it out

Video Game Controller Controller

see the title

This is a controller for a video game controller, that you can program.

I usually wouldn't blog this, but I thought that the servo's + rigid wires & controller chips would be good as research for Tonic's/(Seb's) drum teacher project.
I'm trying to get you those 10 (or 20) marks bitch!!

Ageia Physx stuff

Too lazy right now, will clean up later

Engadget's PhysX processor review roundup

Joystiq's Havock Vs. PhysX

First Post

This is the first post in my V2.0 of my blog. [will be edited/changed later as I'm at work now]
The old MSN one was a bit cruddy, i'll probably update that occaisionally.

This blog is for my apparently 'shitty' posts.

So for a quick rundown, I'll probably be posting:
1. Game related stuff
2. Music related stuff
3. Musical related instruments stuff
3. Technology stuff
4. Funny (read, "shitty") stuff
5. Sports/Skate stuff (if i can be bothered as i'm not really deep into sports, and i don't subscribe to any Skate RSS feeds)
6. errrmmm.....maybe some programming stuff (even though HTML and CSS don't really count as "programming (languages)" i'll include them in this bracket)
7. and anything else that seems to interest me

I'll also probably design this blog with Firefox (or Netscape [powered by Firefox]) in mind as I can't be bothered (read:'hate developing for shit browsers that are integrated into the OS') to cater IE users (I also found Opera 8 was frustrating to design for).
