Play As Your Favourite Marvel Character

In Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. That is if you don't like the (incredible?) Hulk, coz his character has been licensed by Vivendi.

No likes Hulk anyway right. Also, by favourite, I mean the popular ones (that means no Shang-Chi, or 3-D Man). But you can play as (Felix's favourite: Silver Surfer). Anyway it seems cool.

Plus there's online play!!!! w00t!!!

R.I.P. Lik-Sang

Bye bye Lik-Sang.com.

They were "forced" to shut down due to legal pressure from Sony to stop Grey Market vendors. So now, with very little source of revenue, they have decide to close up shop.

The Nintendo DS Just Got That Bit Better

Well, apart from being freakin' awesome (Animal Crossing anyone?), there are a few things that the DS needs.

So, Konami recognised this and have sought to remedy the problem. This remedy takes the form of an Arcade Hits compilation. But wait there's more....
Contra and Gradius are included in the compilation!!!!
OMG!!!!
I <3 Contra & Gradius

Scriptalicious

That would have so been a better name.

So here's a site with cool script stuff, that sadly stole its name from del.i.ci.ous.d.s.s.s....ssss.ness.

Sooper gay.

KotOR II v2.0

Well, apparently Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II was kind of hurried out into gold status. So some wonderful modders have taken it upon themselves to try to resore the lost content back into the game.

Personally I found KotOR II not as fun as the original KotOR.

So good on you boys.

Hack the Planet (or your PSP)

So you've got a PSP, and you've knackered the analogue stick (again).

Well, then here are two sweet mods for you via joystiq

EA are Sneaky Whores

Well, apparently EA are now using "LIVE" in-game advertising.

I've started playing "Need For Speed : Most Wanted" again, and can't help but notice the huge Burger King ads in the game (especially the billboard by on the 180 degree corner by the golf course). But it's all good coz it doesn't distract from my evading the 5-0.

But here's the thing. EA will now be using a different type of in game advertising in their two new titles: Battlefield 2142, and Need For Speed : Carbon. This advertising involves "spyware" that will place the ads into the game. So I'm guessing the ads will change from time to time.

According to the adware company, "70% of gamers [are] saying that advertisements inside computer and video games help improve the realism of the gaming experience".
So what could they possibly advertise in Battlefield 2142 (apart from McDonalds) that will add realism??

Here's joystiq's coverage:

I Want A 22-inch Monitor

Well the new widescreen monitor thing is getting kind of ridiculous (ie. the Apple Cinema Screens). I mean, who would pay those prices for a frickin' monitor? Probably only the Apple fanboys, i guess, they wouldn't want a monitor that didn't match their computer.

Anyways, aside for my hate of Apple and Steve Jobs (apart from my 3G iPod and the new 2G iPod Shuffle - out 28th October), there is a new fad of making 22-inch monitors. The only problem is that they won't support a 1080p HD signal coz the vertical resolution is 1050 pixels.

Endgadget has been keeping abreast of this current fashion trend, and today they have brought to my attention a new 22-inch widescreen Iiyama which is selling for £270!!! No HDMI jack or any news of it supporting HDCP via the DVI, but you can't argue with the price!!!

But check out BenQ FP241W (also here's the gay microsite). It supports full 1080p "True HD", plus it supports PiP!!! That's right, freakin' Picture in Picture!!! USB 2.0 Hub, multiple video inputs. What else could you want?
How about the BenQ FP241W Z, which is basically the same, but with some new "AMA Z" technology, that reduces ghosting and increases the clarity of moving images.

I bet they cost bucks tho :(
Oh well, its almost Christmas :D

[Update 1]

Apparently, according to Trusted Reviews it costs £646.24 inc VAT. So not freakin' bad!!!!
Check out their review here

Its upgrade season!!! - [Updated]

Woohoo!!!!

Well, seeing as its my birthday on Sunday, I thought I'd upgrade my PC.

So I bought a new processor (on my credit card - hahahaha).
Its an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Socket 939, ToledoCore, 2x 2.4GHz, 2MB L2 Cache (2 x 1MB). Bought from www.scan.co.uk. Not too bad service, if I do say so myself.

HAHAHAHAHAH, DUAL CORE, GET SOME!!!!

I also got a Scythe Ninja passive CPU cooler. It's freakin' sweet, it looks like a shuriken!!! Although I'm kinda afraid that it'll be too close to my RAM. We'll just have to wait and see.

So here's the update

Heres'a close up of my new CPU

And here's a pic of my newly installed CPU cooler, its freakin' massive!!!

And here's one of it all put together, note how the cooling fan is situated above my memory!!!

It's Been A Slow Week - Part 1 - Music

Well, as the title says: "Its been a slow week".

I've found absolutely nothing interesting to blog about since my last post (its been so long that I almost forgot my blogger.com username and password!!). So I'll just throw some stuff here that really isn't news or stuff.

OK, so first lets talk music:
1. I'm getting more into +44. Probably coz I hate Tom Delonge and his Angels and Airwaves, and also coz I think Travis Barker is an awesome drummer.

Travis FTW!!!

2. I've recently rediscovered Finch. By rediscovered, I mean listening to all those mp3's that I "aquired" (I didn't say downloaded so the MPAA can suck my P2P software), but haven't yet listened to. All I can say is that they are awesome. Like they're kinda emo-core (I think), wikipedia says their a "rock" band but I could log on and change that to "american commercial jingle composers". Anyway check 'em out, my current favorite track is "What it is to burn":

well that's it for now. Look out for more non-news goodies later.
Peace out
J.

NVIDIA or ATI?

I fucking hate it when big companies buy out little companies. It seriously fucks everything up. I mean, there are hardly any specialist shops these days, they've all been replaced by huge conglomerate supermarkets and shit. Long gone are the times of the local butcher, green grocer, and bakery. All we're left with are the Tesco's, Sainsbury's, and Morrissons, who would want you believe that they get quality produce and have fully qualified specialist staff. Bullshit.

Anyway, back to the real issue....

We all know Dell bought Alienware, and HP bought Voodoo PC.
We also know that AMD bought ATi.

So what could the next logical step be in the whole hyper-global-mega-net business acquisition process?
Think about it....

Could it be Intel buying NVIDIA?

Looks like my next rig upgrade may have to be an AMD and ATi setup :(

Wednesday 4 October 2006

+44 FTW!!!

Angels and Airwaves suck ass. Everyone knows it. Don't deny your true feelings.
Tom Delounge is gay, and so is his new music. According to Seb, his wife's a real Yoko Oh-No.

So here's some +44 (Mark and Travis from Blink 182). Think of them as the better half of the Blink 182 split.

I like.
But..
The only thing I don't like is the name, coz its freakin' hard to search for on the interweb. Is it +44, Plus 44, Plus44, Plus Forty-Four, Plus Four Four, etc....?????

Wii!!!!

Now that I've pre-ordered my Wii, all that's left is the waiting......

But to keep me and you entertained, here's a cool little newsy story thingy about how freakin' sweet the Wii is (with videos).

Read or Die

You know what, I couldn't resist it. Here's one of the coolest videos from that article. I can imagine playing this game for ages, seeing as I don't play Seb's drums no more :(

How Black/White is your name?

Never one to hide my racist streak (ABC News are also, apparently, racists as well), here's a stupid article about the 20 "whitest" or "blackist" boys and girls names.

Only in America

The Lostpedia

Well, its been a frreakin' while huh.

So here's something I found. Its the online Lost Encyclopedia.

Yeah, I don't watch Lost (apart from the first episode) but I'll probably start once it gets good. I'm pretty sure its gonna start sucking soon, especially because J.J. Abrams and his goons still don't know what's going on in their own freakin' show.
